Grace Endowment - Leaving a Legacy
An estate plan provides a way to be remembered long after we are gone. Your will is not just about money, it is about the people we love and
what we find meaningful. Many feel they don't need a will because they do not have an "estate", but the reality is everyone needs one to
help loved ones make difficult decisions, such as:
- Who should be the guardian of your minor children?
- Would you like the state to choose your heirs or would you like to choose who receives your property upon your death?
- Who should get Grandma's china, Mom's wedding ring, or Dad's tools?
- Who makes important medical decisions for you if you are incapacitated?
The decisions we establish in a will are statements of the choices and gifts that we have mandated as important. Planned giving can
be a part of those choices and can include making bequests to charitable foundations and organizations that reflect your values. A
legacy gift left to Grace Church acknowledges the significance of our spiritual community and the values we support. Large or small,
each bequest provides for future ministries that contribute to a stronger community of faith. It is a way of remembering
Grace, and of leaving something of lasting impact for generations to come.
There are many ways to give to the Grace Endowment Fund. Some examples include the legacy that built Walker Hall, or funding to
expand the library. A bequest is an active endorsement of the tenets we hold close. It is a way to insure we are leaving a
legacy of what we value: Inclusion, Service, Discovery, Gratitude.
If you have a will it is easy to include a bequest to Grace
(click here for sample language to give your attorney), or if you
would like to contact someone from the Endowment Committee for more information,
you can email Tom Ringo.
