Who is my neighbor?

Picture this: You are driving (anywhere, really), and you come to a stoplight. There is a person on the corner with a “please help” sign. It tears your heart. What can you give them before the light changes? Should you give them money? Or, you are walking downtown and pass someone pushing a cart heaped with belongings. Do you stop to talk to them? What can you do to help?

In April, our Outreach focus will again be on helping persons who are unsheltered, but with a twist. Instead of highlighting one of our ministry partner organizations, that partner is you! On April 28th, this month’s Service Sunday,we will make “Blessing Bags” during coffee hour. You can keep a Blessing Bag in your car, ready to give to someone in need.

We are collecting items for our bags. On Service Sunday, we will put them in the baskets in the narthex. Then we will have a discussion as we organize what comes in, and each take home Blessing Bags.
