At Grace Church, children are not only welcomed but valued as integral members of our community. As a Grace member, you will see children not just at special, reserved moments, but regularly as readers, servers, and leaders in our life together.
Sunday Programming
Sunday programming is offered during the 9:30 am service in the Family Hall. Ages four and below are welcome in our beautiful, interactive nursery with adjoining playground under the supervision of trained staff. Children ages 4-12 are invited to our classroom for rich and creative programming, and return to the sanctuary for communion with their families.
The fourth Sunday of every month (“Go Fourth Sunday”) is devoted to all-ages worship together, with a children’s moment facilitated by our priest and quiet activities set up in a children’s area by the altar. Families are invited to participate in a service project together after the liturgy. The nursery remains open during Go Fourth Sunday.
Church should feel like home! We seek to create a safe, nurturing place for your children and do everything we can to help them to feel welcomed and valued. Staff and regular volunteers who serve our children have all completed Safeguarding training through the Diocese of Olympia.
Church Nursery
Every Sunday we offer loving child-care managed by Anna Briggs, Nursery Supervisor, with the assistance of our trained caregiver, Christina Fisher. Children up to the age of four are welcome here on a drop-in basis.
Wayfarers
We invite your elementary-aged children, ages 5-12, into a space of exploration and friendship through interactive storytelling, drama, art, music, and ritual. We foster a warm community as we ask big questions together about God, the world, service, and justice.
Volunteers
We welcome you to be a Classroom Friend to our youngest members! Everyone has something to offer, whether it's storytelling, music, art, science, work for justice and peace, or friendship. If you're interested, please contact Kimberly Cockroft, Director of Faith Formation, [email protected].
