Sundays for Grace Kids
Sundays for Grace Kids
Sunday nursery and classes are offered during the 9:30am service in the classrooms. Parents/guardians can retrieve their children from the nursery at the close of the service; older children return to the sanctuary for communion with their families.
Every Sunday we offer loving child-care managed by Petra Esparza, Nursery Supervisor, with assistance from Grace’s very capable teens. Children up to the age of four are welcome here on a drop-in basis.
For children in preschool through 1st grade, Godly Play shines a light on the innate spirituality of children and encourages curiosity and imagination in experiencing the mystery of our faith.Participation helps prepare children for joining in the worship and life of the larger congregation. Combined with music, arts ‘n’ crafts and a snack, Godly Play provides a well-rounded hour for your child.
For our 2nd– 4th graders, we use high-quality children's literature as a jumping off point for discussing Christian values and themes. Each week we experience a book like Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree, Oscar Wilde's The Selfish Giant, Pearl S. Buck's Christmas Day in the Morning, and many, many other classic and contemporary stories. Using our collection of “Hands-On Bibles,” designed especially for children, we teach the children to use the Bible and find verses for themselves. Art, snacks and trail hikes also figure into our time together.
Here 5th & 6th graders learn about their role as Christians in the local and global community. Godly Journey features guest speakers, video clips, service projects, music and art to introduce issues of life and faith that matter to ‘tweens. There will be time to talk, to listen, to laugh, to munch on doughnuts and to enjoy an occasional field-trip.

Volunteer for Godly Play
We love our volunteers! And Godly Play couldn't happen without them. Godly Play is a beautiful program with all the lessons and materials prepared and provided for volunteers. It offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with the children in our community. By volunteering in Godly Play you will learn more than you teach and receive more than you give. Volunteers help with art, snack, and storytelling. The materials are prepared for you and easy to use. Parents and grandparents, those with grown children and those who never had children all make wonderful volunteers. To volunteer, contact Valerie Reinke.
