Knitting into the Mystery
The process of knitting, giving away, and receiving will always be a mystery. What happens to us in the making and the giving? What happens to the recipient? We hear that shawls provide real comfort, through words such as these these: "Thank you, she shines in light under it," and "I could feel the love the first time I touched it – I hold it close at night."
In all its beauty, the knitted garment becomes an outward physical sign of the unseen prayers, offered by all of us, for those in physical or emotional pain.
Knitting into the Mystery meets at Grace once a month on the fourth Monday each month, from 10 am to noon. We would love new knitters and welcome your presence.
We also welcome those who prefer to knit prayer shawls at home. All shawls receive a beautiful hand-crafted label with the receiver's first name on it, and then are blessed on the altar during the Sunday or Wednesday service.
