2026 Stewardship Campaign

2026 Stewardship Campaign

October 12 to November 23, 2025

Each year, our Annual Stewardship Campaign invites us to pause, reflect, and respond to God’s abundant grace in our lives. Our theme, How Then Shall We Live?, asks us to consider what it means to live faithfully, generously, and purposefully in our time and place.

Your generous support makes this kind of life together possible. We invite you to help us reach our 2026 Annual Stewardship goal of $750,000, ensuring that Grace can continue to grow as a vibrant, inclusive, and caring spiritual home for all who come through our doors.

As of October 16:
20 Pledges received | $117,900 = 15% of our goal

Together, as we ask How Then Shall We Live? may our response be one of gratitude, generosity, and joy, living as a community grounded in grace and committed to love in action.

“Cindy and I found Grace in the turmoil following a popular minister’s retirement from our prior church. We immediately felt a connection to a place that can help us on our respective faith journeys. For us, Grace is the place!”

—JOHN SHEA

The Power of Parables

October 14, 21, 28
November 4, 11, 18,

7 p.m. at Grace Church

Led by Eric Mason & Kim Cockroft
Open to All

Learn to live in God’s Kingdom, one parable at a time. Jesus’ stories shocked, stirred, and transformed his original listeners into new ways of seeing and being. Over the years, we’ve domesticated those parables until they are rote and predictable.

Join us as we hear Jesus’ stories again with new ears and open hearts.

Our text: The Kingdom of God is Like ... by Thomas Keating is available in the narthex. Suggested donation is $13.

Grace will be updating our Sound System

Grace will be updating our Sound System

A team of Grace’s sound technicians, musicians, and Vestry have been working throughout 2025 to upgrade our aging sound system.

We are excited to get this new system installed quickly, but since our beautiful sanctuary presents many acoustic and aesthetic challenges, the committee has adopted a deliberate decision-making process. We have collected feedback from the congregation, solicited bids, evaluated vendors, and narrowed the choice down to two top proposals. We have invited both vendors to demonstrate their speakers in our space as we work toward a final decision.

The first demo sounded fantastic, and we have high hopes that the second one will, too. Once the second demo is complete, we’ll select the best trade-off of performance, aesthetics, and cost, with the aim of installing the new system in early 2026.

Trunk-or-Treat

Trunk-or-Treat

at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church

Join us for the inaugural St. Barnabas Trunk-or-Treat, dinner, and All Hallows’ Eve service!

Saturday, October 25

4 p.m. | Trunk-or-Treat
5 p.m. | Spaghetti Dinner in the Parish Hall
6 p.m. | All Hallows’ Eve Service in the Sanctuary

Sounds fun! But…what is a trunk-or-treat? It’s a great time in which kids of all ages can trick-or-treat in the safety of a parking lot from the trunks of decked-out, parked cars! You young-at-heart can show up as early as you like to get your cars situated and ready for the young, who are invited to show up at 4 p.m. for trick-or-treating in the St. Barnabas lower parking lot. We’ll have some carnival games and activities, as well. After trunk-or-treating, we’ll gather for a spaghetti dinner in the Parish Hall. Then, we’re on to the sanctuary for the All Hallows’ Eve prayer service.

United We Stand

United We Stand

An Interreligious Prayer Vigil in Troubled Times

Wednesday, November 5, 2025, 7-8 p.m.

at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, 1245 10th Ave. E., Seattle or via livestream.

In this time of trial and struggle, as we confront challenges to our civil society and our body politic, we are at a crossroads of conscience. And though the voices of vitriol and extremism often resound loudly, it is the judicious wisdom of resilient and courageous peacemakers who will lead us through this crisis. Prayerful reflection stands as a hopeful response to the static of cynicism.

Join local religious leaders and fellow citizens at this brief non-partisan interfaith service of hope, either in-person or via livestream. We ask you to embrace this moment of contemplation and connection, as we affirm the principles that transcend our differences, and the common cause that will bind the wounds of this great nation.

An interreligious event co-sponsored by:

Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral • The Episcopal Diocese of Olympia • St. James Catholic Cathedral• The Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle • Temple De Hirsch Sinai • First African Methodist Episcopal Church of Seattle • Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement at Seattle University
