Donna Greenawalt passed away peacefully in the early morning of Tuesday, July 8. Donna was born and raised in Michigan, where she met her future husband, Jack. She spent many years in Minnesota, where she raised her family and worked for General Mills. She started as a tour guide for the Betty Crocker Kitchens, then moved into design and procurement of office spaces for corporate executives.
Donna moved to Bainbridge Island with her beloved husband, Jack, in 2000. She volunteered at Island Volunteer Caregivers, Helpline House, The Senior Center, and the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. She was a devoted member of PEO and Grace Church. In a piece she wrote when she was 70, she described herself as “short in stature but a dynamo in action.” She will be missed by those who knew her, her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
