Update on Resettlement With Grace
Sunday, September 14th, following the 9:30 a.m. service You are invited to gather in the Living Room to learn more and brainstorm about the following questions: • Should the work of “Resettlement With Grace” continue? • What would that entail — in dollars, manpower, time? • Would expanding beyond our walls be wise (e.g., other churches, Bainbridge Island at-large)? Questions? Call Kathy Deasy at (928) 606-3410 or email her. To donate to RWG, a check made payable to Grace Church with 'RWG' in the memo would be greatly appreciated. You may also give through Realm. Thank you! |

The Gallery at Grace Artist's Reception
Sunday, September 14, during coffee hour Grace welcomes Margret Darrah back to the gallery in September and October for an exhibition of works in cut paper. Margret is a native Seattleite living on Bainbridge Island. She has worked with many media, including textiles and watercolors. Her Scandinavian heritage influenced her appreciation of storytelling and paper. She was greatly influenced by the Old World European Scherenschnitte method. Using small, sharp scissors, she creates original, intriguing, and whimsical scenes. |

Conversation to Care for Creation
Sunday, September 14, in a circle near the altar during coffee hour. We wonder how to live out our faith while resisting. Can we love and respect those with whom we disagree politically? Is there such a thing as sacred resistance? How is resistance part of creation care? Autumn is a time to look inward and care for what summer has given us. As God tends to us, a gardener considers the roots, remembers the blossoms, prunes back, and protects the most vulnerable. How can we attune our lives to care for creation in this time when so much negativity confronts us? What would a gardener do? Upcoming community eventsReverence for Fire: Honoring Its Transformative Nature Monday, September 29th, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The Bainbridge Island North Kitsap Interfaith Climate Circle invites you to a Web of Life event focused on the element of fire. We will explore our varied responses to how fire becomes imbalanced in a climate-changing world and the power it has to support us in transformation — literally and figuratively. For more info, email climatecirclebinkifc@gmail.com Bainbridge Island Sun Day Event Sunday, September 21st, 11:00 – 12:30 Join us at the Bainbridge Public Library to learn about the momentum for solar power in Bainbridge and the world. Then, ask experts and neighbors your questions about solar systems. We’ll honor the Library’s plans to install a solar system. Jeremy Smithson, founder of Puget Sound Solar, will review the history of solar in the U.S. and explain where the industry is headed. You’ll also learn about solar projects around the Island and by the Suquamish tribe. For more infomation visit:

Men’s Group Pilgrimage
Nine Men of Grace went on a pilgrimage from August 28-31 on the rugged coast of the Olympic Peninsula. We hiked from Lake Ozette to Cape Alava, then traveled north and up the coast, camping along the way. The most challenging part of the pilgrimage was Saturday, when we hiked around and over several headlands within a two-hour window of low tide in order to get beyond the Point of Arches and to Shi Shi Beach where we camped on Saturday night. We ended our journey with a Sunday Eucharist service before hiking the length of Shi Shi Beach and out to the trailhead and our vehicles. We hiked more than twenty miles in four days. It was a deeply meaningful, rewarding, and demanding experience. |

Written in honor of the patron saint of music, the work reflects a deep engagement with sacred tradition while shaped by Stoyanovich’s distinct compositional voice. This requiem confronts tradition with a fresh perspective, renewing a centuries-old form through thoughtful innovation and emotional rigor. |
