Growing Grace Team Unveils New Welcoming SignageTo ensure that Grace Church is welcoming to all guests, the Growing Grace Team has proposed a comprehensive update of exterior signage to be installed during May. Included in the update will be colorful directional signs on Day Road and along the entry lane just past the Island School, an entry and exit sign at the gate that welcomes arriving visitors and wishes them Peace when departing, and a Church Hours sign to be affixed to the gate itself so it is visible when closed. Also planned are new signs for guest parking and upgraded signs for handicapped parking as well as new directional signs for the Grace Trails, Labyrinth, Columbarium, Memorial Garden, Office, and Bike Parking. In addition, the Bainbridge Island Park District will be installing additional signage along the Trails directing hikers to Grace Church, our Labyrinth, and our Memorial Garden. I would like to give special recognition to team member Rhonda Peacock, whose graphic design expertise made these signs possible. Participating in the Growing Grace Team has been enlightening and challenging as we collectively work to make Grace a more welcoming place. I encourage any member of Grace who is interested in helping with this initiative to speak with Jeff Bassett, Kim Cockroft, or Eric Mason for more information. — Mike Leamon, For the Growing Grace Team |
