Katherine “Kay” Hornick, born on Tuesday, January 2nd, 1940, in Chelan, WA, passed away on Saturday, June 20th, 2026, on Bainbridge Island, after several months of care at Bainbridge Health & Rehab.
Kay’s lifelong passion was fine art; she was an accomplished artist and painter. This passion gave her the honor and privilege of operating the Traveling Gallery and Kay Hornick Studios, and having her work displayed at the Frye Art Museum. She was part of Bainbridge Arts and Crafts for many years.
She was an incredible person to all who had the privilege of having known her and had her as a part of their lives in the 86 years she graced our world. She has been and always will be a special, inspiring person with a golden heart.
Her Memorial service will be held at Grace on Saturday, August 29 at 2 pm.
