Have you ever wanted to share your reactions to something that stirred in you during the Sunday service? Perhaps it was a question the homily raised, an emotional response to the music, or something said during the Children’s Moment. It could even be the light streaming in the sanctuary.

Soul Reflections is a new small group during which you can share your thoughts. A Grace member will facilitate each meeting every Sunday after the 9:30 service, starting Sunday, October 4. Hope you can come!

Supper Club Kick Off is just around the corner...

What is Supper Club? Supper Club is comprised of groups of 6–8 people who get together to share a meal. Once the groups are formed, each group makes up its own rules... meet monthly, bi-monthly, go out, or eat in? It’s a great way to meet new people and it’s fun.

How do I join? Contact Kay Roach by October 10 to say you want to participate. Come to the Supper Club Kick-off on October 23 @ 5:00 p.m. at Grace. It’s potluck, so bring a dish to share. We'll announce groups at the Kick-off supper. Sit with your group and plan your next dinner.

Can’t attend on October 23? That’s okay! Sign up by October 20 to be assigned to a group.

We warmly invite you to consider joining the Music Circle. The Music Circle is made up of musicians of a variety of ages and skill levels who provide music for the Sunday 9:30 am service and for special liturgies throughout the year. Do you sing or play an instrument that would benefit worship? Please consider joining. We rehearse on Tuesdays from 3:00–4:30 pm. If you are interested but not available during the rehearsal time, or you're looking for a short-term commitment, you are still welcome to get involved. Contact Kim Thompson for more information.

Renee, Luke, Coretta, and Oscar invite you to stop by our farm and see what we are always working on. Come by on your way home from the Grace retreat, or even if you aren’t going to the retreat. We’ll give tours at 2:00 and 3:00; otherwise, it will be a low-key event to say hi and see the farm.

Bring your companion animals for our yearly Blessing of the Animals service. Please keep your leashed dogs with you on the Walker Hall side of the sanctuary. Other animals are welcome on the Sunday School side. Larger animals will receive a blessing outdoors.

Did you know that Grace has a labyrinth and a time capsule? Did you know that there is a zinc line that runs down the middle of the sanctuary? Come on a tour of the Grace building and grounds to learn more about our beautiful church, grounds, and trails! Please meet in the Narthex at 11:00 after you have gotten some treats. See you there!

Join other art lovers for a conversation with our current Gallery at Grace artist, Matthew X. Curry. Learn more about Matthew, where he finds inspiration, and how his architectural training led to drawings, sculpture, and the creation of exquisite furniture and exotic wood boxes. Open house with wine and hors d’oeuvres from 5:00–7:00 pm. Artist’s remarks at 6:00. 

Grace and our project partners are thrilled to announce the completed construction of a 32 kW solar power system on our rooftop. This ceremony and workshop are a great opportunity to learn more about the benefits of solar, meet the individuals and organizations that have made this project a reality, and celebrate Grace’s commitment to caring for the Earth and supporting and empowering residents of Bainbridge Island.

The program will include:

9:00 am: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

10:00 am: Educational workshop 

Please RSVP to ensure we have enough refreshments and seating for all attendees. The ceremony will be held on the outdoor patio, weather permitting. Outdoor seating will be available.

YWCA Annual Gala

Friday, October 9, YWCA Kitsap will host A Bold and Beautiful Evening of Impact, its annual gala, at the Bremerton Conference Center. This year’s event is especially meaningful after the devastating fire at one of the shelters earlier this year. The community showed up for us then, and we are asking our community to show up again.

Some things can’t be said, they can only be walked together.

Join Grace in walking to support our own Kim Cockroft and all those affected by breast cancer.

Making Strides Seattle, hosted by the American Cancer Society, is a wonderful way to show support while helping raise money and awareness for breast cancer prevention, treatment, and a cure. Sometimes when we feel helpless, moving forward — together — is exactly what we can do. Please see the details below and sign up! This is a family- and dog-friendly event. Walk starts at 10:30 am at Pier 62 (1951 Alaskan Way, Seattle). No car needed, as it is just north of the ferry terminal. 

Walk options: 1-mile or 2.5-mile loop (all down the Waterfront/ Alaskan Way)
