Earth & Spirit Conversation to Care for Creation

Earth & Spirit Conversation to Care for Creation

This Sunday, July 6, after coffee hour

We’ve enjoyed wonderful conversations about our sacred natural systems, our place within them, and how we might transform our love into action. A question being asked is, “Should we take political action individually and/or as a church?” Join our caring circle as we consider this question.

Faith Shower Project

July Outreach Project

Each Monday, the Faith Shower Project in Poulsbo provides showers, laundry facilities, and a hot lunch to as many as 20 unhoused members of our community. In the past two months, three to five new guests have been served each week.

In July, the Grace Outreach Ministry will be helping to supply their “free closet.” Please help us provide their most needed items by placing your donations in baskets in the narthex.

  • travel size toothpaste, deodorant, razors
  • toilet paper
  • bottled water (to fit in a backpack)
  • small juice boxes
  • easy-open cans of SpaghettiOs

To learn about volunteering with the Faith Shower Project, email Leslie Sandberg. BLESSINGS!

Knitting Into the Mystery

Knitting Into the Mystery

July 24 at 11:00 a.m.

Do you have any yarn hiding in your closets, cupboards, or drawers?

The pastoral care team has a good use for it!

Knitting Into the Mystery Returning to In-person Gatherings

For nearly 20 years, a cadre of knitters at Grace has worked prayerfully and soulfully to create Prayer Shawls. The shawls are blessed by our priest and parish and are sent out into the world to fulfill their ministry of giving comfort and support.

“Thank you…I did not want to be a recipient of a prayer shawl, and was reluctant at first to take it. But as soon as I put it on, I felt the warmth and power of the prayers that went into it. It has not left me since — I even sleep with it.” — Prayer Shawl Recipient

Whether you are a seasoned knitter or a novice, you are welcome to join in Knitting Into the Mystery. Shawls will be created for marriages, births, illnesses, comforting, moving away to college, etc.

How you can participate:

Bring your unused, washable yarn to the collection box in the Narthex.

Join us as we gather together to knit on fourth Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. starting July 24!

Contact: Shannon Moore.
