In Memoriam

In Memoriam

Dura Lee Temple Curry
June 20, 1948 – May 1, 2025

Beloved wife, sister, and aunt Dura Lee (Temple) Curry passed away from a brain tumor on May 1, 2025. She was born in Kansas City, Kansas on June 20, 1948. She earned a Masters in playwriting from UCLA and worked as a script editor, assistant producer, screenwriter, and studio executive, becoming Vice President of Production for MGM United Artists. She was a lifetime member of the Dramatists Guild and a member of the Writers Guild and the Academy of Motion Pictures.

Dura was a second mother to her nieces Anna Lee Gerlach, Aimee Michels, and Melissa Navarro. Besides her nieces she is survived by her husband Matthew Curry, sister Annette Fourbears, and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. Her sweet spirit and magical storytelling will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital in her name.

A memorial service will be held at Grace on July 19 at 11:00 am.
