Our facilitator for this year's adult program is Rick Jackson, a co-founder and Senior Fellow of the Center for Courage and Renewal.
“For those of us who want to see democracy survive and thrive … the heart is where everything begins: that grounded place in each of us where we can overcome fear, rediscover that we are members of one another, and embrace the conflicts that threaten democracy as openings to new life for us and for our nation.”
Rick teaches, speaks, and consults with leaders, non-profit organizations, and philanthropies on a range of topics, including identity and integrity, youth and community development, and strategies to foster long-term positive civic renewal. He earned a B.A. in history from St. Olaf College, a Master of Arts in Religion and Social Ethics from Yale University Divinity School, and a Master of Divinity from United Theological Seminary. An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, he was an executive with the YMCA for 25 years.
