Pastor Robert Zimmermann brings a variety of experience to Grace. He began as an associate pastor to a Lutheran congregation in the Bay Area of California and then served as the pastor of a congregation in Portland, Oregon. He began a new Lutheran congregation on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State in 1984. He then served as a hospital chaplain and studied to become a marriage and family therapist, earning his Doctor of Ministry degree from Chicago Theological Seminary in 1993. He served in the Northwest Washington Synod of the ELCA as a Pastoral Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for a decade. When he and Beth married in 2001, he served as the interim pastor at several parishes in New Jersey. In retirement, he and Beth steward their rhododendron nursery, Chimacum Woods.
