Cathedral DaySaturday, April 25 beginning at 10:30 a.m. Cathedral Day is a “family reunion” for Episcopalians from across western Washington—a time for connecting across communities, experiencing your cathedral in a new light... and having a lot of fun. There’s something for everyone—no matter your age! A liturgy of Holy Eucharist with the rites of Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation for candidates from parishes near and far begins at 10:30 a.m., opening with a grand, colorful procession of parish banners. Following the service, all are invited to enjoy lunch from food trucks and participate in activities for all ages. (Food truck lunch is free with advance registration.) Contact Rev. Spiritual Writing Class begins Wednesday, May 13Memoir, Poetry, and Prayer: Sign up for one, two, or all sections! First Section: Memoir Second Section: Poetry Third Section: Prayer Participants in each class section will study excerpts in each genre from well-known spiritual writers. By the end of all three sections, participants will have created and shared one piece of their own writing. Led by writers Kim Cockroft and Florrie Munat. Summer poetry section facilitated by Notre Dame Literature PHD student Merry Cockroft. Groups meet in Grace’s Living Room. Each class section requires registration and will be capped at 12 participants. The class is totally free and all materials are provided. |

Kids’ Night In + Parents’ Night Out
Saturday, May 9 | 5:00–9:00 p.m. (pickup between 7–9 p.m.) Cost: $15 per child | Scholarships available Parents, leave kid fun up to us while you enjoy an evening out! Children (preschool–grade 4) are invited to Grace for a prehistoric party on Saturday, May 9. Adventures will include a DIY volcano activity, floor-is-lava obstacle course, caveman dinner (no utensils—dress for mess!), and so much more. In Memoriam: Douglas Fritz FergusonFebruary 2, 1966 - February 17, 2026 A celebration of life will be held in person at 11 am Saturday, May 2 at Grace Church. Born in Seattle, Fritz was the only child of Barbara Bozanich and Douglas Ward Ferguson. Part of his childhood was spent on Bainbridge Island; he later lived on Whidbey Island and in Phoenix, enjoying the sunshine and riding his motorcycles. He worked as a long haul trucker and was briefly married to his wife, Stacy, in 2011. The couple had no children. Fritz is survived by stepmom Della Ferguson and sisters Kathryn Baker and Amy Perkins. |

Grace Kids CampMonday, August 17–Friday, August 21, from 9am–1pm Give your kids a week of summer fun – turned all the way up at Grace Kids Camp!This play-first camp is built for movement and creativity—featuring field games, music, messy art projects, from-scratch kitchen fun, water play, and a high-energy closing day carnival. Grace Is Going Solar!
Earth and Spirit is delighted to announce that Grace has been awarded a Clean Energy Grant from the Washington Department of Commerce to install a 32.12 kW, 73-panel solar array on the church roof. Generating approximately 30,670 kWh per year, this project is a vital part of the church’s commitment to environmental stewardship. It is also an important step in strengthening the church’s role as a Bainbridge Island resilience center (HUB), in partnership with The Island School, providing temporary shelter for those stranded on the island in the event of a major disaster. Funding for this project comes from the State of Washington funds generated by the Climate Commitment Act. Cascadia Solar will install the system, and Olympia Community Solar will be the contract manager for the installation. Great care went into selecting a contractor and designing a system that will blend in with the church’s beautiful architecture. Huge thanks to Dan Rohan, Jens Böemer, Dave Haley, Eric Matthews, Ruth Matthews, Terry Jones, Robert Cromwell, Marcy Lagerloef, and Gary Lagerloef for their leadership and hard work. |

Fundraiser for Kitsap Immigrant Assistance CenterSaturday, May 2 Indivisible Bainbridge will be hosting a special fundraising event to benefit KIAC on Saturday, May 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Bainbridge Winery. Paintings and Poetry
Exhibit at Murano Senior Living through April 30 Two members of Grace, Marty Steyer and John McKenzie, partnered with artist Marilyn Bergstrom to create a video of an art and poetry exhibit featuring residents of Murano Senior Living in Seattle. The exhibit features art by 10 residents, each interpreted with a poem written by Marty. In the video, John captures the visual and sonic qualities of the paintings and the poetry.
