Cathedral Day
This Saturday, May 3 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Cathedral Cathedral Day is a “family reunion” for Episcopalians from across western Washington — a time for connecting across communities, experiencing your cathedral in a new light... and having a lot of fun. There’s something for everyone — no matter your age! A liturgy of Holy Eucharist with the rites of Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation for candidates from parishes near and far will begin at 10:30 a.m., opening with a grand, colorful procession of parish banners. Fourteen members of Grace will be confirmed/reaffirmed in the Episcopal Church! Eric and Kim will be on the 7:55 a.m. ferry from Bainbridge. Check the Saturday ferry schedule for other options. Please look for the Grace banner, and if you can't locate us, text Kim Cockroft at the number included in the confirmation email. On Sunday, May 4, at the 9:30 a.m. service, we will honor our confirmands and celebrate them at Coffee Hour (with cake). For more infomation visit:

Coffee & a Psalm Continues! All are Welcome Please join us on Mondays from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. for a refreshing, thoughtful way to begin your week. For the past 12 weeks, “CAAP” has provided a welcome sanctuary for participants, so we will continue meeting into the foreseeable future! We begin with prayer or song, after which three volunteers read the psalm aloud, with each reading followed by a few minutes of silence. We then share our reflections or simply listen. No preparation is necessary – just come to Walker Hall on Mondays at 10:00! Coffee/tea and treats are provided. Questions? Please contact Kim Cockroft or Florrie Munat. For more infomation visit:

More than a Greeting
A New Interactive WelcomeThe Growing Grace Team continues to reimagine Grace through the lens of welcome and hospitality for newcomers. Part of this process is creating new opportunities for newcomers to learn more about how Grace works. Grace currently holds newcomer dinners four times a year. During this casual evening, folks share a meal, get to know one another, talk about what brought them to Grace and what they might be spiritually seeking. This summer we’ll be augmenting the newcomer experience by offering a “Grace Tour.” The tour will feature Grace members and staff sharing information about how Grace works – from vestments to maple bars! The vibe will be lively, the mode interactive, and it may even be downright entertaining! Also beginning this summer, and continuing throughout the year periodically, Grace will celebrate new members during the Sunday 9:30 a.m. service. Special liturgy has been crafted, and all new members will be recognized, should they wish to be. We are excited to welcome and celebrate our new folks in this special way! — Rhonda Peacock, for the Growing Grace Team Learn more about Growing Grace on our website. |

In Memoriam: John David WomeldorffJune 5, 1954 - April 16, 2025 It is with a full heart and deep sadness that we share the sudden passing of David Emerald Womeldorff, beloved friend, teacher, partner, and the creator of TED* (*The Empowerment Dynamic). David died quietly of a heart attack at his home on April 16. He was resting in his favorite chair, calm and at peace. In the last few weeks of his life, we were lucky to hear David reflect on how grateful he was for the people he loved and how fulfilled he was with his work and contributions to the world. A Celebration of David’s life will be held at Grace Episcopal Church at 2 PM, Thursday June 5, which would have been his 71st birthday. Men of Grace Showed Up!
A big shout out to the Men of Grace who came together for spring cleaning by clearing the front circle of the church. John Shea led his hardworking and skilled crew through a challenging project of thinning nearly 40 volunteer alders and willows, providing an environment of sustainability and growth for the remaining trees. This effort produced a pile of firewood that will be donated to those in need, has already beautified our front door — and saved Grace Church beaucoup bucks! Many thanks to John Shea, Eric Matthews, Randy Otto, Don Rooks, Dave Haley, David Schultz, Michael Bronsdon, Tom Ringo, Tom Tyner, Joe Paar, Scott Kennedy, Martin Garthwaite, Mike Gillogley, and special thanks to Keith Butler for donating use of his truck, chipper, and fuel; and to Marcus Lang for donating the use of his mighty little tractor. — Ann New |
