Parent’s ChatPodcast & Pie Monday, May 12We will meet at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at Kim & Martin Cockroft's home. All parents welcome! Most podcasts will be so easily consumable (like pie) that you can listen to them on the way to our house! So this is a very low-pressure group, with the focus on building community and discussing thought-provoking topics on parenting and faith. May’s podcast: The Deconstructionists, a conversation with Peter Enns, titled “The Sin of Certainty.” We are very casual at our house, so please don’t worry about arriving late or leaving early. For directions to the Cockroft's home, contact kim@gracehere.org. |

Celebrating the Gifts of Dirt Gardenand Rogation Sunday Sunday, May 25 On the 4th Sunday of each month, “Service Sunday,” we highlight an outreach ministry that Grace supports. This month we will be celebrating the Gifts of Dirt Garden, which Grace started four years ago to grow produce for Helpline House. After the 9:30 service on May 25 you are invited to come to the garden for a dedication and blessing of this amazing ministry. We will also be celebrating Rogation Sunday. Anglicans in old England traditionally set this time aside to ask God for help and a blessing over their crops. Parishioners gathered and walked along the parish boundaries. Stopping at landmarks, the priest read from the Gospel and asked for God’s blessing on the crops. Rogation Day became a time for farmers to settle any boundary disputes and to resolve other interpersonal conflicts. Peace and love toward neighbors and showing mercy and justice to the poor was promoted. Over the years, Rogation Day has blossomed from a day to ask for God’s help and blessing over the fields to include celebrating the onset of spring. A Peace & Reconciliation Day all in one. Now that’s something to celebrate! For more infomation visit:

Representing Grace at Cathedral Day
On May 3, a group of 15 Grace folks of all ages represented Grace at Cathedral Day at St. Mark’s. Thirteen people were confirmed and three were reaffirmed in their commitment to follow Jesus and be part of the community of faith. On Sunday at Grace, we celebrated them with blessings and cake. If you are thirteen or older and interested in attending the next Foundations class to prepare for confirmation, please let Eric Mason or Kim C. know. |
