Knitting Into the Mystery
Do you have any yarn hiding in your closets, cupboards, or drawers? The pastoral care team has a good use for it! Knitting Into the Mystery Returning to In-person Gatherings For nearly 20 years, a cadre of knitters at Grace has worked prayerfully and soulfully to create Prayer Shawls. The shawls are blessed by our priest and parish and are sent out into the world to fulfill their ministry of giving comfort and support. “Thank you…I did not want to be a recipient of a prayer shawl, and was reluctant at first to take it. But as soon as I put it on, I felt the warmth and power of the prayers that went into it. It has not left me since — I even sleep with it.” — Prayer Shawl Recipient Whether you are a seasoned knitter or a novice, you are welcome to join in Knitting Into the Mystery. Shawls will be created for marriages, births, illnesses, comforting, moving away to college, etc. How you can participate: Bring your unused, washable yarn to the collection box in the Narthex. Join us as we gather together to knit on fourth Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. starting July 24! Contact: Shannon Moore. |
